Product Manager II, Client API & Partner Ecosystem

Build the API and ecosystem products that power global trade

The opportunity:

Our larger goal is to connect all participants in global trade through a seamless web of global commerce. As we scale our business, we look to automate and standardize more of those trade connections, so that transactions between client systems and the Flexport platform seamlessly flow and with minimal human intervention.

You will be responsible for defining and iterating Flexport’s customer-facing API and ecosystem product strategy to meet the growing needs of customers, partners and our own professional services team. With a customer-first mindset and deep empathy for customer needs, you will work alongside a team of highly-skilled engineers, solution architects, designers, data scientists, and freight forwarding experts in building the interface between our customers and the movement of their goods. You will also collaborate with our ecosystem partners to define and build the tools that help them seamlessly connect to our platform and provide best-in-class integrated value propositions. In the end, the products you build will empower our customers to automate and optimize their end-to-end supply chains and run more successful businesses.

You will:

  • Meet with our customers and partners to gain a deep understanding of their freight forwarding API and integration needs and how Flexport can best address those needs
  • Set the 3 year client API and partner ecosystem vision and strategy and how we will get there
  • Work closely with our business, operations, and technology teams to develop a roadmap to address the needs of our users and partners
  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, solution architects, data scientists, and operations specialists to implement your product vision
  • Become a domain expert: Understand the market, competitive landscape, and how Flexport fits into it all
  • Measure and demonstrate increasing customer and partner adoption of Flexport’s API.

You should have:

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager
  • A strong understanding of APIs and REST principles
  • A track record of creating design-led world-class customer experiences
  • Prior experience delivering against an API roadmap
  • Technical competence; might not be an expert, but can talk shop with the best of them
  • Experience collaborating with and inspiring engineering teams with a focus on accelerating development velocity
  • Crystal clear communication skills, driving consensus across functions and teams
  • Bonus: You have experience in logistics or a SaaS Mid-Market / Enterprise Product
