Build the programs to help Flexport grow

The opportunity:

Flexport is looking for a Senior Marketing Operations Manager to facilitate our marketing strategy, planning, and execution.

In this position, you will work cross-functionally with many different team members to execute on marketing campaigns, maintain quality control, and drive insights from reporting and analytics. You will own the accuracy of our marketing data and will continuously optimize our processes to make our marketing inbound and outbound efforts more efficient.

Our revenue grew to $3.3b in 2021 and we are continuing to grow our marketing team substantially. The volume of campaign activity will be increasing across all of our channels and we want your help to ensure that we have rock-solid operations for scale.

You will be part of our Business Technology team, working closely with teammates in Growth Marketing, Growth Engineering, Inbound Sales, and Global Brand.

You will:

  • Own the marketing tech stack by leading the administration and management of integrations, lead routing, field mapping, documentation, and optimization of tooling
  • Manage existing vendor relationships, and evaluate, purchase, and implement new software partners
  • Troubleshoot and QA workflows, data issues, and other essential marketing ops functions
  • Partner with content and growth teams on email strategy, campaign and program build, and strategic guidance on marketing automation campaigns
  • Provide thorough knowledge of best practices and processes for marketing automation and actively drive, organize, and participate in key enhancements in all marketing technology
  • Develop enablement plans, lead training, and deliver documentation to ensure marketers are fully enabled to use new system features
  • Build and manage reports and dashboards; develop, maintain, and improve dashboards to track key success metrics for the team and executive leadership, and collaborate with our data analytics teams to execute on more complex projects

You should have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience either in a marketing operations or demand generation role in a B2B environment.
  • 2+ years of experience managing Pardot, Marketo or similar marketing automation tool
  • A deeply curious mentality: you’re excited to learn about complex problems in a complex industry and have the persistence to ferret them out. When you encounter a new software tool, you are eager to learn how it works and can fit into our systems
  • Proficient with analytical tools and developing reports/dashboards for demand generation performance. You can navigate conversations with both the data engineering team and non-technical marketing stakeholders on how our data is structured.
  • Proven track record of inheriting and improving existing technologies and implementing new technologies.
  • Ability to build processes: you build the feedback loops that will make your plan a success: determining and informing the right stakeholders, gaining their buy-in and keeping them informed.
  • A true team player mentality: you’re always willing to jump in and help out. Flexport is a highly cross-functional company that requires effective collaboration to drive company-wide results.
  • An integrated mindset, easily understanding the link between marketing activities and overall business goals including their potential impact on other departments.
  • You’re a clear communicator — you are effective communicating both at a exec level - making the complex simple - and in specific technical detail when needed to ensure we build through the detail
  • Direct exposure working with prospect/client databases on managing growth, enriching current data, and segmenting key audiences.
