A Guide to User Roles

A breakdown of each user role within the Flexport app, and what each role is able to see and do.

Flexport provides structured data about your supply chain, channeled into powerful reporting and analytics. Multiple stakeholders in your organization may need various levels of access to all of this data. For example, colleagues from different departments might be asking these sorts of questions:

  • Finance: What are my landed costs per unit for this product line?
  • Operations: Where are my goods in transit, and what needs my attention today?
  • Sales: When can I expect these SKUs to be on the shelf for our customer?
  • Analysts: How can I better optimize this supply chain?

Administrators can assign user roles to their account's users within the app, to ensure that stakeholders have access only to what they need. Here’s a guide to which permissions are available for each user role:

Admins can adjust user roles when adding a user to the company account, or at any time by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings tab, and then click Users.
  2. Click the Actions button next to a user whose role you'd like to change.
  3. Choose Edit Profile, and adjust the Role as necessary at the bottom of their profile.
  4. Click Save.
