Flexport makes shipping your cargo transparent, reliable, and affordable
Shipment tags allows you to set and manage your own reference information on a shipment (e.g. a PO number or batch number). If you’re interested in using Shipment Tags, you can set them by selecting the Your Business tab and then select Settings. In the Settings tab, select Shipment Preferences and you can manage your shipment tags from here.
Shipment tags are organized as pairings of labels (e.g. “PO”) and values (e.g. “123456”). Labels can be added and used by users across your organization and can be added at any point in the shipment lifecycle. Continuing reading to learn how you can add tags to your Flexport shipments.
Add via the Booking Form
You can add shipment tags to your shipments when submitting your bookings. At the bottom of the booking form, you or your suppliers can add your tags before clicking "Review Booking".
The text on the left provides the tag label and the second text box will allow you to add the tag value(s).
Add via your Shipment Page
You can also add shipment tags to a shipment by navigating to the Shipment Details tab on the shipment page and using the Shipment Tags section. By clicking Edit, you will see a modal that allows you to add, remove, or edit the shipment tags of the shipment. Type each tag into the text field and press enter after each tag to finalize them.
Tip: You can copy and paste a comma-separated list of values to quickly add multiple shipment tag values at once.
Searching for shipments with specific Shipment Tags
Once shipment tags are added to a shipment, they will appear on the shipment details page, as well as next to the name of the shipment on the dashboard and the shipment list.
You can also search for your Shipment Tags in the search bar, and they will be displayed in the search results as well.
