CHED | Common Health Entry Document

What is a CHED?

A Common Health Entry Document (CHED) is the health entry document for consignments of plants, plant products, foods, and animal products. Importers or their agents submit it through an online system, such as TRACES, before the goods arrive.

What types of CHED exist?

Different goods need different CHEDs. CHED-A covers live animals, CHED-P covers animal products, CHED-PP covers plants and plant products, and CHED-D covers feed and food not of animal origin.

The importer or its agent usually submits the CHED before the goods arrive, and border officials may check the shipment and its documents before they release the goods. Without a valid CHED, regulated goods can't clear customs.
